N.C. to issue redesigned license plates

READ MORE:

RALEIGH (AP) -- After 25 years, North Carolina's standard license plate is changing colors.

Beginning on Monday, the regular plates will sport red letters and numbers instead of blue. The redesign will keep the 1980s lettering of "North Carolina," while the background retains the shadowed sea grass and Wright brothers' plane.

Officials say most states rotate their tag designs every five to 15 years, but Delaware has had the same plate since 1962. North Carolina hasn't made a change since 1982.

Division of Motor Vehicles spokeswoman Marge Howell the state has allocated a million dollars to distribute more than 600-thousand new plates during the first year to replace plates that begin with letters A to H.

Why not a big fat crooked politician?

They seem to be what this state is known for these days instead of the birthplace of modern flight. Get real Raleigh, we need new plates like we need more illegal aliens. Oops! That would be another good design! An "undocumented" Latino family with 20 kids as the background for the plates.

License plates

Ah, so that's the reason. I heard the inmates who make the plates in jail ran out of blue paint so they decided to switch to red and see how long it will take before someone notices

Here's an idea....

How 'bout a license plate with our state flower (the orange road cone) and our state bird (the mosquito). hahahahahahaha!

Next to last in educaiton

Why not have our plates say the truth. Next to last in education. Or home of pigs. Sweet tater country. The Tobacco I mean Golden Leaf State. Any others?
