The City Council Appointed a THIRD Realtor to the Board...

As if there wasn't enough development/real estate interests in local elected offices, yet another one gets on the City Council. It's almost unbelievable but there it is.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority

Since its formation on July 1 the CFPUA has affected the entire region as to its initial conception without voter approval, its increase in virtually everyone's water/sewer rates with more to come, its shoddy billing procedures, and a general lack of communication to the local residents.

Cape Fear Public Utility New Building

How about the nice, new Cape Fear Utility building across the street from the government complex off Racine Dr.? - likely contributor to the increase in rates. I'm not sure why they couldn't operate inside the government complex since there appears to be more than enough space. The billing?? - I haven't received a bill in 4 months for my house; however, they send me bills for my boyfriend's house located on the opposite side of the county. Hmmm...figure that one out.

Opening of new Women's and Children's Hospital at NHRMC

This has a bigger impact on more people in this region than anything else that happened in 2008.
