Norad started to track the flight path of Santa Claus this Wednesday morning.
Santa's first stop? Auckland, New Zealand.
The Christmas tradition began back in 1955. A Colorado newspaper printed an ad with a phone number for Santa Claus. The number had one digit wrong, and the calls got through to the Continental Air Defense Command.
Since then, the US Military has been the unofficial worldwide Santa monitoring experts.
