Private police chief found guilty

READ MORE:
NEW HANOVER COUNTY -- A district court judge found the chief of a local private security force guilty Friday. Joe Guarascio was originally charged with assault, impersonating an officer and false imprisonment. Guarascio runs the private security firm Inter-pol. He's a certified law enforcement officer, but from January 2006 to October 2006 Guarascio had his license suspended because of a firearm violation. Prosecutors say during that time, guarascio presented himself as a valid law enforcement officer, assisted in an arrest... And beat a man. SBI Det. Mark Francisco said, "He said he popped the guy on the head a couple of times with his stinger, or flashlight." The judge dropped two of the charges: impersonating an officer and false imprisonment. He found Guarascio guilty of assault. Defense attorney Thomas Hicks said, "I respect his decision, but I disagree with it and I think when a jury gets a chance to hear the case they will find the right decision." Hicks says his client is appealing the verdict. Guarascio has since had his law enforcement certification reinstated, but it could still be in jeopardy now that he's been convicted.

Yeah this man is the biggest slimeball

I know he is guilty. Thanks for all the prayers for him b/c everyone needs it especially him. I am pretty sure there is a special place in hell for him to go and I am going to be happy knowing he is sitting in jail rotting; after everything he has done to young girls and others not to mention his hugeee file at the police station.

i know the man since

i know the man since birth, and it is a shame people rush to judgement, with out knowing all of the facts.these same people should not live in glass houses.also there is a old saying that goes, when you spit up, it will always come down. i will always pray for him and his family

I know the officer in

I know the officer in question and if you knew anything about him you would know he's been a police officer since 1985. He worked as a new york city cop, so before you go saying he's just a rent-a-cop check your facts. and in truth Inter-pol special police may be a private security force but they are mostly made up of former cops and former military. They do regular training just like any other law enforcement agency. like i said before you speck you might want to check your facts.
