WILMINGTON -- You asked. We got answers.
For almost a year cones have blocked the left hand entrance lane to the Isabel Holmes Bridge near downtown Wilmington.
After receiving numerous e-mails asking why those cones were still there NewsChannel 3 contacted the Department of Transportation and found out drivers in the left hand lane kept running red lights because they didn't know to stop.
The state says they are installing an overhead stoplight on the Isabel Holmes Bridge to solve the problem.
Joe Blair with the N.C. Department of Transportation said, "For whatever reason our traffic guys did not get the design plan until about a month ago. So we're in the process of contracting to put up the mast signal support."
According to the DOT, the left hand lane should be open to drivers by the end of October.
