Edwards says tax hikes for the rich, corporations on the table

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Democratic presidential contender John Edwards says he would consider raising taxes on corporations and the wealthy.

The former North Carolina senator says the money would be used to fund programs such as universal health care.

Edwards was at the California Democratic Party convention in San Diego yesterday.

He plans to campaign in Las Vegas today. Elizabeth Edwards is campaigning today for her husband in New Hampshire, which holds the first presidential primary next year.
