CHARLOTTE (AP) -- If you want to see Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods walk the fairways during Wednesday's pro-am at the Wachovia Championship, set your alarm.
Jordan and Woods will tee off the first hole at 7:30 a.m. They'll be joined by Charlotte car dealer Skipper Beck.
Most PGA Tour events pair a pro with four amateurs, leading to pro-am rounds that take five hours or longer. The Wachovia Championship offers limited pro-am spots. Jordan will play with Beck, whose spots were part of a hospitality package purchased by his company, Beck Imports.
Woods and Jordan have played golf together but never in a public setting like Wednesday's pro-am. Thousands are expected.
And, apparently, there was almost another glamour pairing. Quail Hollow president Johnny Harris says he almost paired Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Harris says Manning will be there, but Brady couldn't fit the event into his schedule.
