WILMINGTON -- Two men are behind bars and charged with killing a 17-year-old boy. The murder happened Saturday in the Creekwood community near downtown Wilmington. One of the suspects is not even old enough to buy cigarettes, but he's charged with first-degree murder. Seventeen-year-old Hykeem Gaymon went before a judge Friday on the charges. Twenty-six-year-old Kevin Green is also charged with murder. Investigators say the men shot and killed 17-year-old Antonio Brown May 5 in the 700 block of North 30th Street. The men were arrested by the violent fugitives task force Thursday. Police won't say where they were arrested. We spoke with Gaymon's family, who did not go to his first court appearance, all they would say is that they don't believe he did it. The men are being held in the New Hanover County jail under no bond. According to residents at the Pines Apartments off Shipyard Boulevard, police performed a search where officers surrounded the buildings, ordered everyone out and used tear gas. The police department would not comment much on the search, only to say it was related to the arrests.
