Cooper sends letter to Myspace about sex offenders

Attorney General Roy Cooper is escalating his fight against sex offenders on the Internet. Cooper sent a letter to popular social networking site Myspace-dot-com today asking the company to give him the names of any registered sex offenders who use the site.

Duke University says it has settled a lawsuit by a former lacrosse player. Former player Kyle Dowd and his parents sued the school saying a professor gave him a bad grade because he was on the team.
