High school seniors all across our area shared an important moment in their life Saturday, their high school graduation.

More than 1,400 high school seniors in New Hanover County graduated this weekend.

Ashley, Hoggard, Laney and New Hanover high schools held their graduation at UNCW's Trask Coliseum.

We asked some of the graduates what their plans are after high school…

"I’m going to Cape Fear to study criminal justice and hopefully, in the long run become a wildlife officer." – Charles Rollins

"I’m going to ECU, hopefully to do interior design, but I’m still not sure yet." –Tyler Woodard

"I’m going to school for culinary arts to become a chef." –LaShawn Wright

High schools in Pender and Brunswick counties, as well as West Bladen High School, also held graduation ceremonies Saturday.

PROPS TO ALL STUDENTS

I think as a parent and memeber of the community. I can't say enough how proud I am of all students, With the high drop out rate is in North Carolina, and the issues that kids face now at home and school. I am very proud and continue on with your future, You have the world. Also to the teachers, WOW what a great job with all you face with pay cuts, job cuts, etc... Have a safe and great summer
