Congressman Mike McIntyre stopped by one Brunswick County town to shed some light on the local economy.

The Southport and Oak Island Chamber of Commerce held their 34th annual chamber meeting Monday. The meeting took place at the Southport Community Building.

McIntyre's speech tried to give a shot in the arm to the local economy. “Part of the challenge in dealing with a tough economy is getting that sense of optimism, getting people excited about being able to go and generate business and get out and make sure their business can succeed, making sure they have access to capital” McIntyre said. “We want to make sure that's being done and that small business can get a step ahead.”

McIntyre also mentioned a reason to be optimistic was the start of tourism season, an industry that has helped sustain the local economy in these tough times.

Tax hike Mike

Mike shouldn't be talking about trying to kickstart the economy when his recent voting record shows that he has no problem with spending this country into ground.

I think he's just trying to do damage control. He knows he made a major mistake by voting for the TRILLION dollar stimulus bill (that has done squat to help the taxpayer) is now trying to dupe people into believing that he is in Washington looking out for the little guy.

One of Mike McIntyre's local office workers makes nearly 6200 per month. Check it out for yourself:

Hey Mike, why don't you give some of us a high-paying job answering phones and ignoring constituents?

Oh, I forgot. You need the rest of us to keep working so that you and your lackeys can live large on our tax money.
