Operation Firecracker leads to many arrests

Law enforcement was out in full force this holiday weekend, targeting drunk drivers, speeders, and other safety violators.

Highway Patrol set up various checkpoints on Friday and Saturday night at Myrtle Grove, Wrightsville Avenue and Wrightsville Beach.

Deputies and troopers issued 145 citations, and made nearly 80 arrests at those checkpoints.
