New numbers show things are starting to pick up in the Wilmington area housing market.
The good news is sales rose from 373 homes in May to 412 in June.
The average sale price and median price were also up slightly from May.
All of those numbers are below June of 2008, which was not the greatest of month's itself, but the trend is going in a positive direction.

Housing market
The early morning news painted a different picture than the article found in the Star News on page 3B. I have been a Real Estate Broker in the area for over 12 years and I have seen the highs and the lows. When possible sellers hear your report, it can make it difficult for us in the business to show in black and white what the actual market is. Please read the article and thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.
Housing slump
This is the worst housing slump in two generations. Home values have dropped 20%, even with low interest rates there is no one that can sell their house for what they believ eit is worth to tradeit for another.
Everyone has maxed out their credit, there is no qualified buyer anymore that it house hunting unless they are transferred to this area for some reason and their company is helping them out.
