Local kids sending Valentines to troops overseas

READ MORE:
WILMINGTON -- Some little valentines showed they have big hearts tonight. At the Chick-Fil-A in Monkey Junction, local kids got together and made Valentine cards for troops overseas. The event was part of a Tuesday night's kids night the restaurant hosts every week. Kids used markers, feathers and hearts to create the messages. Mostly the kids wished the troops overseas a day filled with love and well wishes to come home safely. Nine-year-old Devin Glancy said, "My brother is or was in the Iraq war and I just wanted to see if he was OK." "I wish them good luck," Nine-year-old Velva Riggs said. "I hope they are OK and a very happy Valentines Day." The creative cards will go to troops at University Station next week and then those troops will send them over to the valentines in Iraq.
