The weather was great on Saturday; just in time for the 11th Annual Festival Latino at Hugh McRae Park.

Twenty-thousand people from across the Cape Fear region enjoyed music and cultural dancing, artwork and jewelry, and of course, authentic Latin food.

Lucy Vasquez told WWAY what makes this festival so special. "I think, more than anything, Festival Latino is special because it's inclusive. It says, ‘come on let's just show who we are’, the differences, enjoy each other's music, enjoy each other's food, enjoy each other's company. I think this festival is so special because it's made out of love, it just the love for our community,” she said.

Amigos International, a non-profit organization that works to bring the Spanish speaking community together, sponsored the event.
