RALEIGH (AP) -- You can fish for free this July Fourth.
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is encouraging more people to get outside and to the water.
From midnight to eleven-59 p-m Wednesday, anyone can fish in any public water without a fishing license or a trout stamp. It applies to fresh and coastal waters.
Some fishing regulations and restrictions will still be in effect. This includes size and reel limits and bait and tackle restrictions. Park use fees also apply.

stop the complaining
For all of you that have complianed about a saltwater fishing liscense all I have to say is,"If you can't afford a fifteen dollar a year permit than you can not afford to go fishing".
it was free
It used to be free to fish until the government started making everybody have a license and took that freedom away. Now by not charging for one day they get to act like they are giving us something.
fishing
Oh, I am so excited. I have to run out and buy fishing poles and equipment, bait and maybe a boat to take advantage of this generous offer.

Without the "stupid yankess"
Without the "stupid yankess" you would not have what you've got down here. And you might want to educate yourself on the correct spelling of yankees.
What we've got now?
Just what would that be that we didn't have before?
Stupidity
What are you rebelling against... success? You spelled Yankee wrong dufus.
Fishing
WHAT??? We can fish for free in the ocean for one day.. OMG what is the goverment going to do without that money?
Teach 2 fish
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day...
Teach a man to fish and he will be dead of mercury poisoning inside three years.
