WILMINGTON -- It was an exciting day for those onboard the US Coast Guard Cutter Diligence and their families. After being at sea for about two months the ship docked around noon in downtown Wilmington.
The Diligence spent its time away conducting various missions while patrolling the Straits of Florida.
Family and friends greeted the Diligence with signs and excitement. Everyone was happy to be reunited.
Greg Dendy said, "This is probably one of the better homecomings in a while. Patrol was really hard and long. Just glad to be back."
Guard members we spoke with said they were looking forward to relaxing with their families and eating some good food.
