Okay - enough has been said about the whole situation. Evidently he is not going to resign, he can't be made to resign, so you are stuck with him.
Find a new survey on something that matters.
The Bottom line is, If Voters Knew Then What They NOW,
Brian Berger would have never been elected!!! Thanks WWAY for staying on top this issue. The Brian Berger saga has reminded us how important it is to check these candidates out for ourselves snd NOT rely on biased CR_P from "Blowhards" like Ben McCoy or Curtis Wright!

all you want. He's not required to resign; and he probably needs the $17K per year the County pays him.
Start a recall motion. It's been posted on the site as to the steps required.
OR, identify a qualified candidate to run for office at the next election.

the question of mr. berger resigning is not the issue in my opinion. the fact that our leaders are not accountable to us except by election i feel is the issue

Brian Berger was elected by the public and should be able to fill out his term and rerun for reelection should he choose. The media has overplayed this story -- ie for weeks every story showed him in his orange jump suit. All of his problems seem to stem from his so called girl friend who apparently is not a true friend. Thses stories are a good example of the newa media running amok and sensationalizing a story where there is none. Brian, I'm on your side. My advice is to stay away from your love/hate relationship. Media, leave the man alone to do his job.

Brian Burger needs to resign and get some serious help with his mental issues. He has stalked his ex-girlfriend, damaged her vehicle, carved his arms like a Thanksgiving turkey, had an hour and a half standoff with police, lied about the police, has been served with a protective order, and continues to believe he is an "asset" to NHC voters. He's in complete denial of his situation. He's a sick man who needs to resign and get professional help. He will NEVER get re-elected. Period. His political career is over.

President Obama has discouraging poll numbers too...
But I think he's one of the best presidents we've ever had and I want him to serve a 2nd term. The old adage "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" applies here I think.
I have no respect for opinion polls and it's a sad day for the New Hanover Commissioners when they try to use such data to depose one of their own. Gossip mongering at all levels of local government, media, and the public drinks their cool-aid without batting an eyelash... What else is new in New Hanover county?
