BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- The mail in northern Brunswick County came to a halt this morning as police investigated a bomb threat.

Police say it all started when a customer received a suspicious e-mail that said a suspicious package might arrive.

But no package was found.

Police closed the building for more than an hour and evacuated employees.

Customers were forced to wait outside for their mail.

Eleanor Mills witnessed the event. She said, "I saw the cops, the fire department, the rescue squad. We couldn't come in. They had it all blocked off around here. And we could not pick up our mail at all this morning."

By around 11:30 a.m. the Post Office reopened and service returned to normal.

The case is now in the hands of the postal inspector, who will look into who sent the suspicious e-mail.
