FBI, SBI Investigation Long Overdue in Wilmington

It doesn't take more than a few corrupt, abusive thugs in uniforms to drag down an entire police force or a County army of Deputies serving political bosses. Its all fun and games when kids get shot (punks or not, everyone is entitled to Due Process), law-abiding citizens are targeted by an officer or public official with an axe to grind.

Ben David might be part of the problem, directly involved as he sells souls for the state Attorney General office he covets, and there's more smoke in the D.A.'s office than in Pine Valley.

David and his staff violate the rights of wilmingtonians, imprison and prosecute innocent people with no cause to destroy so many lives and families. It's time for the FBI and SBI to conduct a full investigation into the conduct of Ben David, his blindly ambitious staff and the handful of equally indecent abusers of power in the WPD and NHCSO. David, his staff, and the law enforcement agencies should welcome and invite an investigation - unless they are hiding their own illegal activities. They are and the worst criminals wear suits and uniforms, someone needs to get a boat and bring the FBI and SBI to the Hanover side of the Cape Fear River!

A free vacation?

Well, ok...all of you judges, jurors and henchmen, it is never a vacation when your entire career is on the brink of falling off a cliff into a bottomless pit of doom...whether you get paid for it or not...not fun!!!

Whether these officers did wrong or not, whether they crossed the thin blue line or not, I don't know, not my call, not my evaluation. But I can guarantee you one thing! They aren't sitting back in their beach chairs, sipping Mai-Tai's and whooping it up right now!

Does that make all of you a little happier? Or did I spoil your happy-dance enjoyment of others misfortune?

Wah! Wah! Wah! They did it

Wah! Wah! Wah! They did it to themselves! Where is the pay for those GOOD officers who were forced out! Any discomfort your husband is feeling is his. Get off the iPhone already and let him deal with the uncertainty like a man.

This is not misfortune. This is KARMA.

You completely missed the point WadCake.

Sorry WadCake, I'm a male and not related to these officers or even live on that side of the swill. There isn't a such thing as a "Good officer" in the minds and eyes of you armchair critics. You'd just as soon send them to the gallows AND pull the lever before any sort of facts come out.

My point being, this is not a vacation for them, paid or not. It is likely the end of their careers. Be it their own actions that caused this, perhaps so. It just amazes me that you cowardly cyber fatmouths aren't satisfied with justice, you gloat and gleam in their misfortune in having to start over in life. This will affect the officers wives and children just as well that had no part in this scandal.

In short you remind me of those ignorant and pitiful middle-easterners that burn flags, throw rocks and fire their AK-47's at anything related to the USA.

Yeah...YOU remember that Karma promise as well WadCake! Don't even think about wondering why you're face down on a sidewalk trying to figure out who you are and how you got there!

Law Enforcement

With all the people out of jobs including myself, it's hard to see someone getting paid to stay home. If they are proven innocent, then they should be paid back pay. Many of us would jump at the chance of being able to work and surely would not abuse it! Suspended means suspended in all forms!

Officers Suspension

They should not be paid while on Suspension. If there is reason to suspend, it should be without pay. Only after the investigation, should any of them be reinstated, those are the ones who should be given back pay.

Your choices are too narrow

You need at least one more choice: Something along the lines of "It's worth it to keep them from causing more trouble", or "At least the the end of paying them for nothing is in sight"
