Gov. Perdue wants a 3/4-cent sales tax increase to fund education. Republican leaders say no. What do you think?Add the tax. It's a little extra that will go a long way. 20% (103 votes) No way. We're taxed enough already. 79% (403 votes) I'd support an increase, but not that much. 1% (5 votes) Don't know/Don't care 0% (1 vote) Total votes: 512 |

Gov. Perdue, spokesperson for homeschooling...
Governor, no society has ever taxed itself to success. When I went to school, we learned to read and write. Now your kids learn; failure is rewarded, success is punished (taxed), we evolved from rocks, we must tolerate perversion etc. Wait till these kids learn they are each $50,000 in (National) debt and don't have the skills to perform well at a fast food restaurant.
Tax Increase for Education
I want to know why our governor is considering raising taxes to better our schools. We have an education lottery in place to help with the expenses of our school system. Wasn't that why it was allowed to happen in NC? Is the money being used for something other than education? I'm just wondering.
I'm wondering the same
I'm wondering the same thing. What is happening with the money from the lottery, as it was supposed to be for education????
Education Tax
Amazing - more taxes for endless wars but not even a full penny to raise up our educational system. Don't worry, your kid will be serving me at Taco Bell because he can't pass high school math.....
+1 I couldn't have said it
+1 I couldn't have said it any better. "Hello and welcome to Walmart"
You mean the NC Education
You mean the NC Education Lottery did not fix our school's problems like the Dems said it would? They just need a little more of your tax dollars? If you don't think you are taxed enough already, go ahead and write a check.
My kids are doing just fine
My kids are doing just fine in math, and they wouldn't need to work at Taco Bell if prices and taxes weren't already so high.
