Brunswick County Schools fighting lawsuit

BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- Brunswick County Schools are fighting back against the lawsuit filed by parents of the student who married her coach.

According to published reports the school board's lawyer filed a motion to dismiss to the suit. The motion asks to release the school board from responsibility if insurance doesn't protect it against claims of negligence.

The motion also cites lack of evidence.

Dennis and Betty Hager, parents of South Brunswick High School student Windy Wuchae, filed the suit, claiming the school board didn't do enough to stop the relationship between their daughter and 40-year-old cross country coach Brent Wuchae.
