WILMINGTON -- Port security was topic one at a special session in Wilmington today.
The Security Training Exercise Program brought state, local and federal agencies together to evaluate security problems and solutions at the port.
There were working scenarios for both man-made and natural disasters.
The Coast Guard says these types of sessions are the best way to trade ideas.
Port security specialist Tracy Ferguson said, "The main goal is to develop security strategies to prevent, detect and deter activities with North Carolina"
These agencies meet regularly to review everything from how to contain explosive devices - to handling suspicious cargo.
