Do you think it's a good choice for Notre Dame to join the ACC?

Yes... Notre Dame brings a strong brand to the conference.

Chuck

ND is synonymous with football and THATS what the ACC did NOT get.
Too bad - ND would have been very competitive.
I don't understand the separation of football from the move, but in this case I think the ACC lost out on getting the big one, football

I refer you to the Star News article that states that ND has agreed to play 5 ACC teams on a rotating basis each year until they wish to become full status participants. You are not incorrect, however the ACC will gain from the ND commitment. Others have stated that without football ND offers nothing to the conference. This is very incorrect since ND has very strong Lacrosse-Soccer- Baseball-and on occasion Basketball. ND will ad much needed academics on the order of both Wake, Duke and Va.

Top 25
Lacrosse? ND not in there
Baseball? ND not in there
Basketball? Finished #2 in the Big East but not ranked in top 25
Soccer #8

This to me is inconsistent from sport to sport and is not indicative of a strong athletic program in total. Again, the big sport for Notre Dame is football - nothing else compares with it in that school.
As far as academics go? I will agree that they are above average.
But unfortunately the only other "ranked" sport is soccer.

No. 20 Football

Whats the big deal about being ranked no. 19 or 20 behind Va. Tech,Fla State and Clemson. Getting TV revenue on 5 games isnt a bad thing but everybody knows ND kinda sorta lives off a reputation for the last few years. Hadn't had a coach since Lou.

Notre Dame

They bring some much-needed integrity to the ACC. UNC is not out of the woods yet and Duke has some issues. NC State has a past we want to forget too.

Gotta be something more

Gotta be something more meaningful to the Port City than this.

They're not bringing football

so what are they bringing to the table?

It is financial

Not based on geographic parameters.
