I personally feel that

I personally feel that everyone should forget about marriage, both homosexuals and heterosexuals. It means nothing but trouble when people enter into a contract governed by laws that give each power over the other, what you can do in your own bedroom and who you can do it with. At the very least, make marriage a contract that can be renewed every few years. Think how much most of us would save in divorce costs and attorneys' fees, not to mention all the extra benefits available to singles.

Uh, yes.

It can never be right, just, or moral to prevent a minority group from enjoying the same rights as are afforded others. There's no argument, Biblical or otherwise, that supports people discriminating against others. Last I checked, Jesus welcomed all to the table. He healed the Roman centurion's lover, for one.. If that's changed, someone let me know.

I swear to your God

Hello!!!! Didn't Jesus teach to treat your fellow man as you would yourself?!? Didn't Jesus teach compassion? Didn't Jesus undo the laws of the old Testament (I'm lookin' at you Leviticus) with his sacrifice? Didn't Jesus say something about casting stones? For your God's sake... stop picking the pieces of the Bible that you like because you're uncomfortable and start reading the whole darned book. In the end, the word of Christ is about not judging, not treating others as less than equal. It's about love and family and forgiveness and togetherness and putting the world to rights. It's not about discrimination and hatred. Gay marriage does not affect you unless you are GAY. It doesn't tarnish you relationship with God. You don't have to prove your Christianist when you get married at the court house, so why are you putting God into a LEGAL issue. No one has to prove they love Jesus or do not to get legally married. Enough said. Keep your own house in order and do not intrude upon others' rights.

Christian who believes in love!

This is not about Christians versus homosexuals. I am a Christian and I support Equal rights for all of God's children. Stephen Colbert is a comedian, but he said it best. I would ask all of you to follow Jesus' teachings on homosexuality, only Jesus said nothing about it. Jesus did teach to love your neighbor and not to judge but to serve. People are born gay and all people are God's children. Take that plank out of your eye before you worry about the splinter in your neighbor's eye. Jesus is love and I am so happy for my lgbt friends for this step in the right direction.

Major Victory for the LGBT community

Of course I agree with it, how could you possibly deny fellow Americans the right to love? Repealing those laws granted the the gay community 1000+ more human rights that they were being denied before, like the inability to see their spouse in the hospital, many tax benefits, and now they are recognized by the government as a couple. Good for you guys, I could not be more proud to be an American right now. Sure there are still 37 states that need to get on the right side of history but they will in time, regardless of what the intolerant people have to say about it. If you are going to argue about the bible, yes, there is one verse against it that can be taken many different ways. But please look again where it talks about other sins like shaving, eating shrimp, pork, lying, stealing, murdering, and even the one that says women who get married without being a virgin should be stoned. Please do not use religion as an argument, yes you could say America was based on Christian values but in actuality they came here to get away from religious persecution, to be free and believe what they wanted. Gay people getting married does not hurt anyone, and I don't expect the hetero population to understand the struggles and issues that gays do. If you say it is a choice you are wrong, if you do not believe me, please go choose to be gay for a month or so. You can say what you want about us, you can try to eradicate us, put us down, and try to keep us in the closet but God made us who we are and I am proud of it. I will proudly wear my pride shirts in my community and show people being gay is nothing to fear and is perfectly normal. Harvey Milk said "Hope will never be silent" and he is right, I can't wait until I am able to marry the woman I love in my home state.

There is no logical argument that DOMA is constitutional. They did the right thing. Religious arguments do not belong in law. Sorry, haters! Things change!

More ignorant hypocrites

More ignorant hypocrites picking and choosing bible verses to fit their personal beliefs and agendas.

Regardless of my personal religious beliefs, I agree with this decision. America was founded on the belief that anyone could come here and practice whatever religion they wanted; or lack thereof. People fled to America to avoid religious persecution -- sound familiar?

It is beyond ignorant to assume that everyone should read the bible. Everyone has to make that choice for themselves and it is not our place to force our beliefs on others. We are not here to judge others, for there is only one ultimate judge of our character.

I agree with this decision because it is an individuals right, given in the Declaration of Independence, that "all men are created equal" .. and have "certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." It is not the courts job to uphold certain religious beliefs, but to be fair and uphold the beliefs this country was founded upon.

If your only argument that this decision is wrong is based on your personal religious beliefs, then you really have no argument whatsoever. It is not your place to judge others; stop being a hypocrite.

Matthew 7:1
"Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?"

It is a sad day in America

It is a sad day in America but we are one step closer for the rapture of the church. As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah it is worse now than then. God is not going to continue to bless a nation that is so defiant against his word. 1 Corinthians chapter 6 v: 9 plainly tells us that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. So I say as in Philippians chapter 4, v: 4-5, 4:Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. 5:Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Revelation 22:20
I Am Coming Quickly
20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

I have a Revelation for ya

How about all you Christians start practicing the MESSAGE of the Bible instead of taking selected words and using them as weapons.

It's only a sad day in America when we continually hold people down instead of raising them up. Quite ironic considering Christianity in essence is about raising people up, yet all I hear are all these church groups trying to bring anyone not like them down.

Actually Christianity...

Actually, Christianity is about Jesus Christ, the son of God, coming in the flesh to die in order to give salvation to those who confess and repent.. to live with Him in eternity. You obviously are not familiar with Christianity so please don't pretend to be. It makes you sound really stupid.

You may go to your church of choice and pray anywhere in AMERICA... Not all Americans are Christian and that is what makes our country GREAT. All of us are different - races, colors, heritages, ages and YES religions. It should not be assumed that if you are an American you are a Christian.

Gay Marriage

This just shows how much lower the morals have gone down for the USA.No reads the bible any more.If they did they would know this is wrong.

Or they know that our laws

Or they know that our laws arent set by the bible.

Maybe the problem with this

Maybe the problem with this is the fact everyone thinks that since they are American they have the right to cast a vote to force others to do their will. I personally don't think same sex couples should be married in the terms we understand marriage to be defined but I do think everyone has a right to love and respect. I also feel a persons sexuality shouldnt govern them either. As a child of Christ you are suppose to love the sinner, treat others the way you want to be treated.
