WARSAW -- Baby boy Doe, the infant found dead on a doorstep in Warsaw earlier this month, was laid to rest this afternoon.
Religious leaders, law enforcement and members of the community were at Devotional Gardens to pay their respects to the child.
Many people from Warsaw and surrounding communities attended Monday afternoon's funeral, including the two people who found the child on the back doorstep of the vacant house.
It was an afternoon of song, prayer and words of comfort to the community.
Warsaw police say it's only because of the public outcry that they were able to provide funeral services.
Cecil Gui found the baby. He said, "I think someone up above knew that I would look after that baby and put him where he need to be."
Warsaw Police say the investigation continues. They say it's a very strong possibility that the person who left the baby, thought someone might have lived at the house, and that the baby would be found.
Police do say if the person who left the child steps forward they might not face any charges.
Warsaw Police are still asking that anyone who has information in this case to contact the police department. That number is 293-78-16.
