Woman wanted for 20 years arrested

BRUNSWICK COUNTY -- A woman wanted by law enforcement for nearly 20 years was arrested on Friday. Authorities caught up with 62-year-old Sandra Bridewell during a sting at a coffee shop in Charlotte. Bridewell was expected back in Brunswick County Monday night where she faces forgery charges. Bridewell is also known as the "black widow." She is suspected of killing three husbands and her best friend in Dallas, Texas, in the 1980s. She was never charged in those murders.

Camille Bridewell

Wow. I worked right next to Camille for a year in 1992. We worked at a small computer company selling disk drives. The Camille I knew was odd, but very nice at the same time. She ended up getting fired over some missing money and some innapropriate behavior with a customer, but I always felt sorry for her. She had three children (one still in high school) and she seemed to be very focused on trying to find a man to take care of her. She always talked about her husband who had died, and never about the other husbands mentioned in the articles. I am shocked that I was friends with her given her very frightening background. What an eye opener for me. I actually believe she's capable of the things she's being accused of because there was definately something scary behind the niceness. If you knew her, you would know what I'm talking about.
