Port City Chargers Blank Raleigh Knights

The Port City Chargers improved to 2-0 on Saturday night by shutting out the Raleigh Knights 28 – 0.

After a 12-6 win in the season opener, the Chargers dominated both sides of the ball against the Knights.

The Port City offense had success through the air and on the ground. QB Charlie Ross completed 10 – 16 for 182 yards and 2 TDs, as WR Montrel Jones had 6 catches for 102 yards with a TD, and WR Greg Gebhard had 4 catches for 80 yards with a TD. The running game was equally effective as for the second game in a row, both Desmond Jordan and Brian King ran for over 100 yards. Jordan finished the game with 25 carries for 167 yards and 2 TDs, while RB Brian King had 14 carries for 131 yards.
 
The Chargers' defense also turned in a stellar performance, allowing only 110 yards of total offense in picking up the shutout. Cleveland Simmons (20 tackles), Will Brown (17 tackles) and Corey Parker (14 tackles) led the Port City defense as the Chargers rolled to the convincing win.
