Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Update - repairs start June 1

Department of Transportation officials said repairs on the bridge will begin on Sunday June 1 after 6 p.m.

At least one lane in both directions will be closed.

Commuters can expect lane closures during the work week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

As construction progresses, crews may decide to close all lanes.

DOT predicts the bridge will be fixed by this fall.
