Calabash Town Hall Day

The first-ever Town Hall Day in the Brunswick County town celebrated Calabash and gave people the chance to get to know the people who serve them.

People could also learn about the town's history.

Mayor Anthony Clemmons says he hopes the celebration shows officials' dedication to working closely with citizens.

"You have to put that personal touch on a town that promotes the spirit of Calabash and that's part of what today is all about -- the spirit of Calabash and its people," said Clemmons.

This was the first year for the celebration.

Mayor Clemmons said he plans to hold it again next year, but only bigger and better.
