PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- They've had very little time to rest, but that seems to suit North Carolina State just fine.
Engin Atsur scored 18 points, and Ben McCauley had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the weary Wolfpack to a 63-56 win over Drexel on Tuesday night in the first round of the NIT.
Brandon Costner's three-point play late in the game sealed the win for the Wolfpack, who advanced to play Marist Friday night.
The 10th-seeded Wolfpack knocked off three higher seeds in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament before losing to North Carolina in the championship game Sunday. Four exhilarating games in four days and their reward was a plane trip to Philadelphia.
Coach Sidney Lowe didn't wear his now-familiar red blazer, but he didn't need the luck. Drexel's Frank Elegar scored 24 points on 10-for-12 shooting but that was overshadowed by his missing eight of 12 overall free throws, including two that could have put the Dragons ahead late in the game.
