WILMINGTON -- Prosecutors say 19-year-old Sharod Johnson is eligible for the death penalty.
A hearing was held this morning in New Hanover County court.
The judge found aggravating factors in the December shooting death of Mohammed Abdel-Hamid at his convenience store in downtown Wilmington.
Prosecutors say it is unlikely Johnson will be offered a plea deal and will probably go to trial on first-degree murder charges.
A jury would then decide if he gets life in prison, or the death penalty.
