Brunswick Community College is helping students save money and gas.
Besides a four-day calendar that has been in place for years, BCC is offering classes that require less time in the classroom and more time online.
Students can spend either one, two, or three days a week on campus and complete the rest of their class at home, on their computer.
Student Heather Long says not only has this schedule saved her gas money, but helps a lot with childcare, since she can spend more time at home taking care of her family.
"The online classes and the hybrid classes make it possible for me to come to school maybe one or two days a week and complete classes and also to do online, completely online classes," said Long.
BCC President Stephen Greiner said, "The increasing cost of gas should never impact a person's opportunity to attend Brunswick Community College."
BCC is also working on carpool initiatives for students and employees.
