Wallace teenager in critical condition

A trip to the lake left a Wallace teenager in critical condition.

The Wallace assistant town manager says late yesterday afternoon, 14-year-old Andre Williams was swimming in Lake Leamon.

He panicked, and a lifeguard had to go in after him.

The lifeguard performed CPR on the scene, and Williams was taken to Duplin General Hospital and then airlifted to Pitt Memorial in Greenville.

We are told the teen was at the lake with a group of friends.
