Local pet stores are removing 11 brands of wet dog and cat food from their shelves after experts say the food can cause kidney failure and possibly even death.
The recall includes:
- Sophisticat and Sophisticat Supreme
- Authority
- Award
- Great Choice
- Iams
- Eukanuba
- Nutro
- Science Diet
- Mighty Dog Pouches
- Mixables
The brands have the code dates of 6339 through 7073 followed by the plant code 4197.
Menu Foods makes pet food for the majority of US retailers. Despite the reports, the company says so far non of its products has been linked to any pet illnesses or deaths.
