Swimming advisory at Wrightsville Beach lifted

State environmentalists have given the O.K. to swim in Banks Channel.

Yesterday the State Division of Environmental Health advised people against going in the water off Waynick Boulevard in Wrightsville Beach after tests showed high levels of bacteria.

New water samples show bacteria levels well below the state and federal recreational water quality standards.
