McGRADY (AP) -- The father of missing 12-year-old Boy Scout Michael Auberry says he thinks his son is "hunkered down" somewhere in the North Carolina mountains where searchers hope to find him.
Kent Auberry spoke to reporters this morning at the command post where officials began their third day of searching for the boy, who wandered away from camp after lunch on Saturday.
Auberry says he's talked to scout leaders, who say his son was in good spirits on Saturday, and was walking around with a bag of potato chips when, quoting, "in the blink of an eye, he was gone."
Searchers found no new clues or leads during their efforts overnight. National Park Service spokeswoman Tina White says search dogs hit on something near the campsite, but didn't find anything of substance.
