City approves funding for upgrading sewer system

READ MORE:
WILMINGTON -- The Wilmington City Council approved more funding for upgrades to the City's troubled sewer system last night. The City will spend $114,000 to figure out the best route for a second pipeline to run from the Hewlett's Creek pump station on Pine Grove Drive to the Northside wastewater treatment plant on 23rd Street. The analysis should take about three months. Another $867,000 will go to design sewer and water main improvements downtown. That project should take about five months.
