North Carolina man surrenders in Myrtle Beach shooting

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- Myrtle Beach police say a North Carolina man has surrendered in the shooting death of a man last month.

Police say Jeffrey Ray Bethea of Lumberton turned himself in Saturday.

He's charged with murder and three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill.

Police say 22-year-old Aaron Hammonds was killed and three people were hurt in a shooting on Ocean Boulevard during the Atlantic Beach Bike Fest on May 27.

Bethea is being held in the Horry County jail in Conway.
