The town of Oak Island will have to wait to annex the neighboring Long Beach Road area.
Legal action by the Long Beach Road Association has led to a court hearing, scheduled for November 9th. That is two months after Oak Island was scheduled to annex the area.
Oak Island Mayor, Johnie Vereen, said the town will not be able to move forward with annexation plans until Long Beach Road residents are heard in court.
