Obama sneaks down to NC for meeting with former rival

READ MORE:
CHICAGO (AP) -- Barack Obama sneaked into North Carolina and met with former rival John Edwards, who has yet to decide if he will back the Illinois senator or New York Senator Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. The Obama campaign confirmed the meeting. Although reporters normally travel everywhere with Obama, he left them behind to fly down in secret from his hometown of Chicago. Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the senator visited this morning with John and Elizabeth Edwards at their home in Chapel Hill. Burton wouldn't comment on the possibility of an endorsement. People close to the Edwardses say the couple is torn about whom to support. The former North Carolina senator is concerned that Obama may not be ready for the presidency and that his health care plan is inferior. But Edwards was highly critical of Clinton during his campaign, making it more difficult to support her now. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)

Democrats finally define "wealthy"

On March 13th, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both voted in favor of Senate Continuing Resolution 70. In accordance with the terms of this agreement, individual taxpayers making over $31,850 and couples making over $63,700 would see a 3% increase in their income taxes. We now know exactly who the Democarts mean when they say that they're "going after the wealthy."

Obama goes calling on Edwards

You had to say "sneaked" into NC because it was so strongly reported that Obama was NOT coming to this state. Both Democratic front runners need Edwards' endorsement to throw them over the top for the nomination. Is each one offering Edwards the Vice President slot? I believe Edwards is not a popular candidate because of his "populist" platform. When you're worth 50 plus million, continually calling yourself the poor man's candidate, leaves many voters questioning. Quite a few of his political causes sound dated...depression era type stuff. Yes we have problems to address in this country, but again he's a bit too populist for many voters. I believe Edward's is a capable candidate who simply picked the wrong approach.

UGH!

Like anyone really wanted that guys endorsement! Obabma refused to recognize it.

Dennis Kucinich endorsed Obama

The original AP article by Nedra Pickler stated that "none of the former Democratic candidates" have endorsed Obama. This is factually incorrect. Dennis Kucinich explicitly endorsed Obama in Iowa.
