Old school favorites still flying off the shelves

With one shopping day still remaining before Christmas, some holiday trends have been determined.

Wal-mart said people are buying fewer gifts than in years past, but a few big ticket items are still topping the list, notably flat screen television's and the Nintendo Wii, if you can find one.

When it comes to toys, Market Street Wal-mart manager Rick Orndoff said some classics remain popular. “In the toy department, not one particular item but, a lot of basic items, your old reliables such as Monopoly, Lincoln Logs, Slinkies, things of that nature.”

For those still struggling to come up with gift ideas, many are turning to gift cards. Orndoff said he expects to see a big demand for the cards tomorrow when undecided shoppers make their final shopping push before Christmas.
