Little Leaguers from around the area took to the field for opening ceremonies Monday night. Veterans Park was filled with the teams that make up the Myrtle Grove Optimist League. Aside from each team's players and coaches getting introduced, there was also a special ceremony. The Myrtle Grove All-Stars, who won the state championship last year, were honored and recognized in front of the crowd. "It's really exciting to be here tonight because everyone's celebrating what we did and we're getting recognized,” said Brody Curran who played for the All-Stars. “It just feels really good that other people care about how well you did." Six-hundred kids make up the 45 teams in the Myrtle Grove Optimist Little League.
