Panthers open camp in Spartanburgs

Story body

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The Carolina Panthers open camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, today. There's less pressure this year, no one thinks the Panthers are favorites for the Super Bowl, unlike last year. The team stumbled to an eight and eight record last year. The past indicates the team is right where it wants to be. The Panthers made it to the Super Bowl in 2003, after going seven and nine the previous year. A seven and nine season in 2004 was followed by a trip to the NFC championship game in 2005. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
