SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) -- Dwayne Jarrett is bringing his own cheering section to Friday's exhibition game in Philadelphia.
The Carolina Panthers rookie expects about 15 friends and family members to drive over from his hometown in New Brunswick, New Jersey, about an hour away.
Jarrett missed last weekend's opener against the New York Giants because of a hamstring injury. He returned to practice this week and has been working with the second team.
Many had expected Jarrett to replace the released Keyshawn Johnson as the starting receiver opposite Steve Smith. But so far, he's behind Keary Colbert and Drew Carter on the depth chart.
