Pedestrian killed Christmas Eve identified

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Investigators have released the name of a man who died in a Christmas Eve accident in Wilmington.

A car hit 57-year-old Elbert Ray Williams as he crossed Carolina Beach road near Parkway just after sunset Friday night. Investigators say Williams was dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating. The driver has not been charged.

I beleive I knew Ray's

I beleive I knew Ray's brother years ago in Greensboro. Not sure if this is the same Ray, and trying to remember his brother's name. I beleive he, also, had been a car salesman.

What in the world happened to him? I know his brother and his family and am sorry to hear of this tragedy. I can't imagine him as a homeless person. Perhaps this was in error in the initial reporting?

Ray's brother is Robin, such a tragedy. Prayers for the family as they just lost his mother not long ago also.
