Pender Co. names new emergency management chief

Pender County has a new Emergency Management Director. The county introduced Charles "Tom" Collins to the post today.

Colins has served as the Eastern Branch Manager for the state Division of Emergency Management for the past 13 years. He replaces Eddie King, who stepped down in July. Deputy Director Charles Newman has been running the county's Emergency Management Department for the past six months.

Great, another outside

Great, another outside coming into a big job in Pender County. THis is why Pender has so many problems, too many transplants coming in and wanting everything to be like the big city but not wanting to pay more in taxes to get the services.

This job should have gone to someone from Pender County. This creates LOCAL jobs. I guess he retired from the State and now he's working for the county...Doubler Dipper I guess you could say....
