A small community in Pender County is gearing up for their fall festival. The Maple Hill Parade and Festival starts Saturday at 10:00 a.m. off of Maple Hill School Road. Workers were setting up the Moonwalk at the Maple Hill Center. There will be plenty of food and entertainment for all ages. Bryant Sheppard Jr., an organize of the festival said, “It's a homecoming. If you come back on Saturday and talk to some of the people in the crowd you will be amazed at what Maple Hill has accomplished through this parade.” The big event started back in 1973 as a way to bring their small community together.
