It was a beautiful day for a festival, and downtown Burgaw seemed to think so. The town's annual spring fest brought people from all over Pender County, and many stopped by to check out the good food and hand made crafts. Heather kissner painted these birdhouses herself, and she is here at the festival trying to raise money for her church. "I think its fun because everyone lives around us, and we know everybody, and its nice for everybody to come out and buy things, walk around, and eat food, lots of food." The Cripple Creek Cloggers were also there trying to raise money. They're trying to dance their way to Disney World. "Its really fun to be in competitions every year that we do it, and we are going to disney world this december the 28th." Vendors from across the country came to show off they're handy work. Julie D'Ambrosia is from Arizona, and her jewelry pieces are one of a kind.. "My jewelry is all made with sterling silver and has a lot of turqoise which does come from Arizona, I go back out there two or three times a year to hand select my stones." The festival also featured art work and home-made baked goods. But the favorite food of the day had to be the blue snowcones. The slushy treats were just the tip of the iceberg. This year's spring festival had something for everyone.
