A Pender County teacher is dead after a car accident on North College Road. 60 year old Daisy Smith Larkins of Rocky Point hit a piece of construction equipment on North College near Parmalay Road Thursday night. Larkins taught at Pender High School. The highway patrol says a construction company working in the area was transporting a large piece of equipment across the road. Investigators say Larkins drove past a flagman who was directing traffic when the accident happened. No one else was hurt.

Rest in Peace Mrs. Larkins

Mrs. Larkins... you were a wonderful teacher and i loved your chemistry class all the way. I want to thank you for everything that you taught me and i want you to know that you made a difference in my life. You never lost faith in me and always knew that i would be great. I will never forget you; i will never forget all the laughter, all the interesting labs, all the time that i spent with you and the class which whom we grew as a family. And that smile in your face that you would give me letting me know that you were proud of me. I will not forget you. I will keep you always in my heart and in my memories. You were a great person and your legacy lives on. Thank you for everything and the only thing i regret was not letting you know how much you meant to me. My deepest condolences to your family and friends David Cruz

Mrs. Larkins to me was more

Mrs. Larkins to me was more than a teacher, she was a counsler, and a mother-figure. She has literally taught everyone in my house, my mother, my older brother, and myself. Words cannot even begin to express the loss that i personally feel because Mrs. Larkins was like family to me. I will truly miss her and I will never, ever forget the morals and values that she instilled in my life and in the lives of others that i have personally witnessed. I love you Mrs. Larkins.

RIP

My prayers go out to the Larkins' family. May God be with you and guide you and give you strength in this troubling time. May your holiday season be brighter knowing that a wondeful woman, mother and teacher has been taken home. Rest in Peace Mrs. Larkins!!
